Creme Brulee Tartlets by Bisected8 Creme Brulee Tartlets by Bisected8
The recipe for these came from a cookbook my grandma bought me.

For those who don't know, creme brulee is a solid custard based desert with a layer of caramelised sugar over the top.

I messed up slightly; I didn't have a proper 4" tart tray, so I tried making the cases in the bottom of my muffin tray. They came out rather small, so I halved the amount of filling I made. It seems to have worked.

I love recipes which give me an excuse to use a blowtorch. =3

That looks so delicious. I've wanted to try creme brulee for ages. It looks so damn good and so awesomely sugary.

Thanks. =3

The top layer of them is pretty sugary (when it's done properly, it needs to be good and crunchy), but the custard layer's the important part. :D

Yannow, I'm actually reminded of butter tarts when looking at the picture (they're probably no less sweet...). My Mom's got a great from-scratch recipe for them. If I can find her cookbook, would you like the recipe?

Thanks!

Technically creme brulee isn't the same as a custard tart though. Good luck!

I know bro, I just need a puff pastry base for it. But made a short cut of it
